With the new curriculum our preschool program is using, updated materials are a must to support children's hands-on play and learning. Our current materials are from the last curriculum update in 2006, and are showing wear and tear. Adding some new items to the rotation will ensure our students are learning while using the most current, safest materials.
The variety of materials requested in this project include things that will be used during free time, which we have for about one hour a day. During free time, students have choices between dramatic play, writing projects, the science table, blocks/building/vehicles, and games/fine motor manipulatives. This is prime learning for these little ones! They have opportunities to manage their own time, make decisions about who they will be socializing with, and pushing themselves to do new things.
