Working with second graders and many who struggle to stay seated and still, the chairs and cushions would help them in maintaining focus and allow them to be successful in their work. There are several students in the class that would really benefit from having an option that allows them to move while they are seated. Allowing students to move their bodies and stay safe, while they work, would help students in staying focused and on task, which in turn will help them gain confidence in their work and contributions in the classroom. Giving students choices and accessibility to different options for their learning is key in learning. These chairs would allow me to give them those choices and are a stepping stone in giving them what they need.

About my class
