I am looking to build a library of secondary source, historical texts to supplement the use of the regular history and government textbooks that we use in class. My goal is to provide students with access to differing historical texts that are more interesting and engaging for students. This library will be used for enrichment activities and possible sources for research projects.
Students will be able to use this secondary source library to deepen their understanding of their desired subject. I have curated the list of books so that students can have access to multiple interpretations of major historical events. Additionally, and maybe most importantly, this library can show students that historical texts can be much more engaging and interesting than a typical High School history textbook.
