One of the largest hurdles I must tackle every year is how to get these students to find a passion for reading. Most are tired of being forced to read books they see no point to. Then when given a chance to pick their own, they don't even know where to begin. They don't even know what they like yet. I want to provide my students with a plethora of options for teens to hopefully create a passion of reading in my classroom. In addition, I am asking for help to create flexible seating options.... as "comfortable" as a student desk goes, I'm sure you can imagine being allowed to move about the room to read something may help encourage more reading in the future. Maybe one day I will live to see the day where students get excited for a reading day where students ACTUALLY read and put their phones away for the 45 minutes they sit in my room. With your help and these tools, I think I can do that for my students.
