The reading materials that I have chosen will make a tremendous impact on my students reading abilities as well as their confidence in themselves. I teach reading to third graders and we focus our time on transitioning from learning to read to reading to learn. In our day, we have time allotted for guided reading and these materials would be a great addition to our guided reading time. These materials and activities are engaging, exciting, and meet many different learning styles and levels. Having easily accessible leveled fluency passages, decoding activities, and comprehension activities will lessen my planning and preparing time and allow for more time to focus on the students.
Guided reading is such an important part of our day and having the appropriate materials is essential. Not only can I use these in my small groups, but I could use them as center activities for students who are working independently or in a small groups. My students will work on their reading skills while being fully engaged. They not only will improve in reading but they will build confidence and learn to work independently and collaboratively with peers.
Please help support my students and their journey towards continued success.
