There's always a push for teens to get off of their phones or to connect more with the world. But, often, teens aren't given the time or resources to do that- leaving them with only the information they're taught in schools or in their homes. These books will be used daily in my classroom and our school to help my students engage more with their worlds.
These are books that will be read and loved by my students daily, that they have free access to and that they can enjoy, and discuss, and share! Every day in class my students have ten minutes to read their independent reading books. But even outside of that designated time, my students pull out their reading books in other classes when they finish their work! We've worked on fostering a love of reading and literature in our classroom that is now being spread into other classrooms and even starting to happen at home!
These books will help my students have even more options and opportunities to learn about other cultures, times, environments, and experience the joy and struggles of characters that are similar to them. Please consider helping my students continue their love of reading!
