The last year and a half has been stressful for us all and middle schoolers are no exception. As our school has transitioned back from quarantine and a hybrid school year, we have found that many of our students have increased anxiety and emotional needs.
The student services department in our building would like to create a safe space for students to go to decompress, to speak with a support staff member, or just take a quiet break. The items we have chosen for our project will allow us to create that space within our building. We are asking for funds to purchase 6 comfy bean bag chairs, lamps to provide soft lighting, a colorful rug, and white boards and lap desks so they can work from their comfy spot if needed. We also would like to purchase a bench so that we can store some activities and other games that we often use to help our kids regroup.
