Many times the biggest challenge is learning the classmates names, for both the teacher and students. Creating reading wrists allows students to work on their literacy, social, and creative skills. This project teaches them to read each others names, social interaction, and most art projects seem to calm students while exercising their small motor skills. I have purchased small quantities of beads in the past for my students and they are thrilled with writing out their names on bracelets. We just started offering an after school, jewelry making club that has very limited supplies due to the expense. It would be much appreciated to create something they could possibly wear for years, in rememberence of their early learning years. Currently, I have 10 classes in each grade where I teach manners, table setting, money management, bed making, holiday crafts, gratitude card giving, and team building skills.
