My class loves to read and they love to talk about books. We have done book clubs this year with the limited books we have. Getting them from the public library poses some issues such as not being able to keep them for multiple readings and the time it takes to get the books in hand. Having the books in the classroom would allow kids to join book clubs with me and create their own.
Who doesn't love to talk about books? My kids love to share what they've read and to debate what might happen next or why a character did something.
Language is so important. Talking about books is a wonderful way to increase comprehension. Having sets of books in my room is the perfect way for me to get all my kids to that next level of reading while supporting their language skills and offering them a choice.
