In our School News Class, each student is encouraged to do all of the jobs possible to run a news program. From typing dialog, preparing the set, to filming and editing, students learn what each job does to make a show run successfully. When the show airs each Monday morning the students feel a sense of pride at what they have produced.
Right now we work with borrowed equipment and a broken tripod but we do it. Having new equipment would very much improve our Newscast. Who knows? Maybe the program will produce the next Walter Cronkite or Katie Couric. We will watch and see.
