This project will help my students understand that computer programming can be more than just sitting at a desk and entering code. By letting them have a real artifact at the completion of their work, they will be better able to see the effects of their effort. These students have not been exposed to a lot of computer science and I really want to get them excited.
By combining logic and creativity, this project will increase my student's problem-solving skills. As the world becomes more complex, student are going to need to be able to think outside the box in order to solve individual, community, and world problems. I want to prepare them to do just that.
