The students (five ten-year-olds with moderate to severe autism) will be coloring, painting and designing a weatherproof bookshelf out of the oven. The bookshelf will then be made into a Little Free Library and placed outside the school!
These students rarely get the chance to showcase their artistic abilities, let alone have it displayed for the whole neighborhood to see. Let's give them that chance!
I have already reached out to local libraries and gotten books donated, and they are so excited to get started. The bookshelf would also be located in a high needs area and will serve both gen-ed and special-ed students of that area.
