Many of my students do not have family supporting them when they walk into their homes at night. They do not have reminders about what to eat, if they have homework, or if they have everything ready for the following day of school. These students often come unprepared for class, and having a charged Chromebook in my classroom would lessen the chances of them falling behind the other students.
Headphones are helpful for students with sensory issues, as well as auditory learners. Many different students with varying special needs benefit from having the option to use headphones in class. I often allow students to listen to reading if it aids in their comprehension.
