My students learn so much from this unit. They learn safety, control, balance, goal setting, risk taking and perseverance. They come to class excited and the unit is self paced and fun. We received a grant 8 years ago for boards and pads and were, as teachers, certified in SkatePass. Now it has become a huge community as skateboarders from local community organizations come in and help teach more elevated skills. My students make How-to videos as assessments and look forward every year to this unit. The skateboard pads are vital to this unit as it cannot continue without your help!
