These books will provide our students the opportunity to explore a unique perspective of the holocaust in an engaging way. Our students have a diverse range of reading levels and graphic novels help bridge some of the difficulty students have with reading. Additionally, the pictorial representation of the story engages the visual learning side of our students. I have seen our students appreciate and empathize with the stories of our collective human past. I have seen them latch on and empathize with a soldier's pain brought on by the guilt of taking another life during battle. Our students, with incredible stories of their own, have a driving passion to understand others. Maus is an incredible resource that will help them continue developing the skill of empathy as well as allow them to explore and learn the material in a multifaceted way. Please help us give our kids an opportunity they would not otherwise have. Thank you for your support!
