Music is related to different academic areas. Music help students in their discipline, and they also learn to be more focused and attentive. Playing the xylophone will enhance my students' listening skills as well as motor and kinesthetic skills.
Playing a percussion instrument like a xylophone helps children develop coordination and motor skills as it requires movement of the hands and wrists in controlling and bouncing mallets. Enhancing coordination and perfecting timing can prepare children for other areas of interests like singing and dancing. This will also help my students develop self-discipline, patience and perseverance as they take part in a larger ensemble when they grow up.
