I feel that it is very important to acknowledge and recognize my students' positive behaviors, academic achievements, and growth on being able to meaningfully be in the gen ed classroom. One way that we try to motivate them is by using an economy system. Students earn money throughout the week for participating, following classroom procedures, and completing required tasks as well as for their academic growth and achievements. At the end of the week, they will get to go shopping at the store. Unfortunately, this can become very expensive.
We are in need of fun, exciting novelty prize sets that include smelly pencils, slime, superhero attire, slap bracelets and much more.
By funding this project, it will drastically cut out-of-pocket costs of refilling the store myself and will motivate my students to work hard and earn their money.
