Every day I meet with small groups for guided instruction. We meet for guided reading, math small groups, and writer's workshop.
There are some days that I am at this table more than I am teaching my whole group! Currently I have a rectangular table in this space. This is awkward for a number of reasons. It provides challenges to reach all of my students who are in the group. There are at least 2 students who are always a little too far from the instruction. Also, the table height cannot be changed, so the students do not fit well under the table.
This kidney shaped table will provide us enough room to work comfortably in small groups. All students will be close to the instruction. This table will become an integral part of our classroom and we will be thankful for it every day!
