My students are quite diverse. We have students that are bussed in from two cities along with the regional students in the rural, suburban area surrounding the school. My school is a Title I school, which means that there is a high percentage of students who receive free lunch/breakfast. For many of them, school is the only place where they are encouraged to have ambitions of being successful in school and in the workplace. The students also vary racially; more than 50% of the students are of a minority background. It is a great melting pot that can really foster good classroom conversations and promote awareness about others unlike themselves.
