In our school, we don't have our own accessibility to air conditioning. In the hot dessert, it is extremely hard to focus when you are sweating in class because of the heat. I have brought in a fan for the class, but it does not reach every student. Now I have 17 student trying to huddle around one fan. This extra fan will have the ability and power to reach every student while also not producing a loud noise, which is important when trying to teach and learn.
Many of my students can't afford headphones, or they had them and they broke because they were cheap and not very durable. At school we use computer programs that require our students to listen and respond, mostly because they are in first grade and still learning how to read. These headphones will give each student the same opportunity to listen to their computer without causing a distraction for the rest of the class when their volume is to high because they don't have headphones.
Having these few items in my classroom will help the learning of all my students this year, and for years to come. I would love to spend all my money for my kiddos in the classroom, but I really just can't spend this much right now and could really use some help. Please help me improve my classroom for both me and my amazing students.
