These games will continue to enhance the mathematic practices that I strive to teach. My classroom centers are filled with resources that my students really enjoy. They use my teacher created games and they show more mastery of skills when they play games. Every game that is placed in my games center is treated with love and care, and they are thankful for the opportunities to learn while they play. All of the games have been chosen with my students in mind. I have watched them the past few weeks of school play my teacher created games, and I have also asked them what other type of games they would enjoy playing. Students have expressed that they like board games as well. These games will help them continue to enjoy mathematics.
With these new games, my students will be able to choose from a variety of games that are aligned to Common Core Standards at their grade level.
They will also be able to play games with more than one other person. The best way to increase mathematical thinking ability is to incorporate math into their day. These games will continue to help my students grow stronger in math. My students already have shown an astonishing interest in math, and this project will only help enrich their experiences with mathematical practices.
