The new school year would usually kick-off the famous "Recorder Karate" Program for upcoming fourth and fifth grade students to prepare them for middle school band. With distance learning a likely possibility for a large portion of this school year, I am looking for a way my students can continue learning recorder, even virtually. Our classroom currently has a set of 25 recorders. The students can no longer share. With this project we can give each student their own instrument to keep. Since this project will give each child in fourth and fifth grade their own instrument, we will be able to do Recorder Karate virtually from home during distance learning and keep our students safe by not sharing instruments. My students will be thrilled to take their instrument home and continue making music beyond the classroom!
