The colored printer will be used to teach the fractions unit. The colors will show real life examples of fractions. The students will be able to see equal partitioned pieces and the chosen pieces. They will get a better understanding of the numerators and denominators. By helping my students to see these colored pieces as fractions they will have a deep foundation for middle and high school. Fractions are an abstract concept for elementary school students and they need exposure to as much real world examples to get a thorough understanding of the concept.
