All students deserve access to engaging books and literature. Often, reluctant readers just haven't found the right books yet. Graphic novels are a "gateway" into reading for many students--once they've found one good book, they often go searching for another. I would like to build up my classroom library with engaging graphic novels to engage struggling readers. Studies show graphic novels are also great for English-Language-Learners. The graphic novels in this project will help hook students and get them reading. They will be re-used each year and each summer school session for lit-circles and analysis. I have chosen a mix of memoir, history, fiction, and adaptations of classic literature so that there is something for everyone.
