Students in the resource setting are generally behind 2-3 grade levels. However, with COVID-19 school closures and COVID-19 related absences, I have 5th and 6th grade students that are 3-4 grade levels behind. Because they are reading at such a lower level, the books that I have available in my classroom for them to read are generally at an interest level geared to students much younger than them.
These students desperately need books that are on their reading level, but that are also interesting to them.
I want them to understand that reading is fun and can be a joyful experience! These High-Low readers are just what the students need in order to experience the thrill of immersing themselves in a good book. With multiple copies of the books, I can use them in small groups as well. Please help me make that happen for them!
