Currently my students have old and large desks. This does not allow for many seating arrangements while maintaining social distancing. Plus they have deep holes dug into them that students get splinters from their desks. Since I have so many student in my room, I'm barely able to spread them out. It is difficult to create a community in a classroom where all you see are desks. I would like to have smaller desks to create a warm setting and build a safe community in my room. Smaller desks would allow for more flexible seating and thus creating a warmer classroom setting.
