The paint packs will provide every student to be able to create art while forced to be at home. Every child in my art room will benefit from watercolors donated through Donors Choose. The students will receive a pack that I will be putting together which will include watercolor paint, a brush, paper, a sharpie and a pencil. Art plays an important role as children cope with the changes of everyday life with e-learning and not seeing their teachers and classmates. Art encourages fine motor skills, neural development, and problem-solving abilities. Art allows children to process their world, to deal with sometimes scary emotions in a safe way, and gives them critical sensory input. Art is important for its own sake—as a source of beauty and expression, as well as simply the process of creating. Art is fun activity kids enjoy. Art is vital to families because it keeps everyone engaged, happy and helps with the, sometimes difficult, transitions of the day.
