Kindergarten is a crucial time in laying a strong foundation in reading. The pride in a child's eyes when they decode their first word, recognize their first sight word, or read their first book is why I teach! Currently, I am using paper copies of old leveled readers during my guided reading time. Many of these aged leveled readers do not reflect the rigorous reading expectations of 2020.  With the donation of these leveled readers, I will be able to meet my students' diverse needs. These leveled readers will mean educational equality for all students. Providing personalized reading opportunities will allow all students to celebrate their own reading successes. Each and every donation will help to build confident and proud readers.
