We will use the sanders to help make cutting boards with wood inlay. This is a great project because the students learn many of the machines in the shop with this beginners project. Many of the students do such a great job with the cutting boards that their parents never use them but instead put them up as decoration.
We also use the sanders to help the students make log furniture. This project is awesome because we go out into the woods and harvest our own logs to use and the students get to see how to use wood from a tree all the way to a finished project.
