I have been teaching first grade for the past 15 years. This school year I will be our Library Media Specialist. As such, I will have the opportunity to reach all the students in our building. This summer I earned my STEM certification and have learned many new things to bring back to my students. One thing that I am very excited about is Google Tours. Google Tours is an app that the students can add to their Chromebooks that will allow them to travel anywhere in the world.
With the 360 camera, my students would be able to add their own photos to their projects. After taking their 360 photos, my students would upload their photos to Google to make tours of their school and places around their community. WIthout the camera, students are able to choose pictures and places already on Google. This is amazing technology especially with limited access to places due to the Coronavirus. Student who are unable to attend school will feel like they are in the classroom! New teachers and students could take the tour to get to know our school and community before they join us (tours can be made private and links can be given to insure the safety of our students and staff). I look forward to all the fascinating projects my students will be able to create!
