I teach at a brand new STEM high school in the Englewood community of Chicago's south side. The neighborhood bears the weight of decades of neglect and disinvestment. However, my students are on the frontlines to change the narrative of Englewood. Although we operate like a selective enrollment school, we serve all students of the community. Englewood STEM High School offers college courses (associates degrees to our top students), STEM programs, and unique experiences for Englewood's brightest students to those with the highest academic need. I am asking you to donate what you can to help feed my students who come in unfed, give notebooks for writing assignments, and provide unique opportunities outside the classroom so students receive the transformative experience of seeing the world outside of their neighborhood.
