I introduced circle weaving to my 5th and 6th graders last year and it was a great success. When weaving I got participation from students that normally don't express an interest in art and got various other grades asking when they could do a similar project.
With your help I could make fiber arts a regular part of our curriculum.
These looms will enable me to bring fiber arts to multiple classes and grade levels. The plastic needles will help students with the weaving process and and be safe to use. We will be able to reuse these materials again and again.
My goal is that once my students build confidence in their weaving skills they will will be able to do more independent projects. I want them to understand that they can make functional art by weaving small pouches and bags and that art is not just something to look at. I'm looking forward to bringing this art medium to my students.
Thank you for your support of my art classroom and students.
