There are many ways to teach in today's classroom, but I want my classroom to stand out from the others. I enjoy my classroom now, but would like to see change in myself as well as my students. Currently in my classroom there is not a lot of movement during activities and my students rarely speak out unless called upon.
By attending this conference I will learn that a loud classroom does not always mean an unruly classroom. And my students' will learn that there are ways to actively call out to represent their understanding and engagement.
I've never dreamed of participating in a room transformation and my kids have no idea what this is yet, but boy, are we all in for a real treat. Learning will no longer be just paper and pencil, but it will be out of our seats, dressed up, fun room decor, and special treats. But I know that all of this is still tied to a common learning goal. My students will benefit from me attending Get Your Teach On by having the chance to learn in a hands on and engaging way, but where all lessons are tied back to the standards.
I can't wait to learn all of this!
