These materials will make a huge difference in my students learning from home. This project will provide my students the opportunity to learn about life cycles while watching it happen in real life. We are currently preparing the curriculum for the life cycle unit we teach in the spring. Usually, as a class, students get to experience the transformation from caterpillar to butterfly.
The excitement of students' faces while watching their caterpillars transform into butterflies is magical. Having a caterpillar kit of their own will help our students feel connected to their school community by allowing them to share their observations of their caterpillars. They will be able to compare their caterpillars to other classmates' and describe the differences. Butterflies give us hope. Please help give my students hope, fun, amazement and the knowledge that life will go on as they watch these caterpillars become beautiful butterflies in these scary and uncertain times.
