Building a Community: One School, One Book will allow students to work on a collaborative school wide project during the beginning of the 2020-21 school year. This opportunity will build a strong school community to start the year!
Over 500 students in our middle school will collaborate to work on school community, perseverence, and a love of reading. Reading teachers will facilitate the project with the culminating event being a visit from the author if our school is chosen for his project. We will also have weekly activities centered around the book to help students strive to meet reading goals.
Our students are very enthusiastic in regards to group projects and unity. They are a very inclusive group and enjoy working together to complete tasks. A favorite activity in our district is school wide gatherings to celebrate success. At the end of this project, we will have the opportunity to celebrate as a group.
