My classroom has always been a place that was bright and cheerful, but it was created with early elementary students in mind. This year I will be teaching fourth and fifth grade students and I want to create an inviting space for them that is also developmentally appropriate.
When I think of a classroom, I think of a place that is warm, inviting, and inspiring. I want to give my students a calm, relaxing learning space where they can feel safe and focused. I hope to do this by creating a new reading area within my classroom that incorporates soothing colors and textures. A new rug and pillows will help make the space cozy and welcoming for my students.
