I teach in a high poverty, at risk school. About 90% of our students are English language learners. I am a special education resource teacher so most of my students have mild to moderate learning disabilities or health impairments. Most of my students are visual and kinesthetic learners. Hearing me explain concepts is not as effective as seeing or using them. Learning is a challenge for them, especially since it's not in their native language.
