One of the essential programs at our school is AVID(Advanced Via Individual Determination). Avid is designed to close the opportunity gap of our low-income students by providing them with skills that are needed for college, careers, and life.
All students in this program need to have a binder(which they can't afford) to keep them organized. Every week, we do binder checks to help them with this. The binders have every subject divided by categories and really keep things neat and orderly.
Students carry these binders with joy and pride. They can use them from year to year.
