In general, the purpose of a Classroom Virtual Library is to underpin learning and acquisition of knowledge, to provide a more solid basis for education and to enhance quality of life by drawing on digitally available (preferably on-line) books, materials and journals via ICT-based tools with the access to Chromebooks. Students can read in and out of school time, over weekends, holidays and school breaks. With these Chromebooks, my students will be able to have access to a virtual library in the classroom that provides remote (on-line or CD-ROM-based) access to a variety of national and international content (e.g. curricula, learning materials, books, journals, magazines, newspapers), services traditionally offered by libraries and other information sources in their communities.
It is our goal to inspire, involve, and invest in our future leaders of tomorrow.
My reading class and these Chromebooks will give my students an opportunity that they would not normally have access in a normal classroom setting. These Chromebooks will allow students to explore a virtual classroom library on Myon that will support students at all levels, and in multiple environments, as they strive to become successful readers and lifelong learners.
