I am a teacher at a Title 1 School in Tempe, Arizona. Our school has a diverse and transient population, with students from all over the globe. Many of my students speak another language other than English, and reading can be challenging for them. The culture of our school is positive, loving, and accepting. It is a place where students feel safe and supported.
I have true future world leaders in my classroom. My diverse group of second graders are extremely special in the fact that they are more than just accepting of one another...They ask questions, learn, celebrate each others' differences. Despite whatever their situation at home may be, they come into school with big smiles on their faces, ready to make the most of everyday in the classroom.
