This project will help students see models of quality personal narratives and engage in mini-lessons to create their own narratives. Each book will be used to teach a specific skill that students can apply to their own writing. Many of these books are classics, but with current precautions in place, borrowing from other teachers is not available, so having a copy that I can read in person to the students and then use to reference throughout the unit will be invaluable.
By building a strong literature library for this unit, students will have diverse models of personal narrative stories. Students will participate in lessons that help them build their own story from the heart of an idea to the full creation of a published piece.
