I have not updated my classroom library since I started teaching. I have been teaching third grade reading and social studies for 12 years. Last year I moved to a self contained class teaching third grade reading, social studies, math, and science. Next year, I will be moving to second grade to then loop up to third with them the following year.
With the donations to this project, the new books will not only enhance my daily lessons but also enrich my students' reading abilities. I strategically chose the books on my wish list to coincide with certain lessons. For example, I will use several of them for inferencing lessons. Inferencing is so hard for young minds to grasp so the more exposure the better. The students in my class benefit greatly to on level books that interest them.
