I chose materials that the parents of my students can use to set up structured work areas for their children in their homes. I want to provide them with a set-up that is familiar to the students based on what we use in the classroom.
I look forward to using these materials to make engaging and hands-on activities that my students can use at home to assist them in maintaining previously learned skills. My students benefit from a variety of hands-on activities and multi-modal strategies to meet their learning needs.
If this project is funded, I will be able to give parents the resources they need to incorporate a structured work station in their home. They will be able to use the three-drawer storage carts to place activities for their child to complete and to help them maintain their skills. I will be able to use the other materials to create a variety of activities, including file folder tasks, sorting tasks, matching tasks, and counting tasks that the children are familiar with from their school
