Young children are still learning how to express emotions and handle anxiety about things that are out of their control. That can get in the way of learning in the classroom. I would love to set up an area where children can go when they are feeling anxious, angry, or not sure how to deal with their emotions until they are able to express how they are feeling with sensory items and posters about self-regulation. I also want to equip them to learn how to problem solve and overcome obstacles in order to develop a growth mindset that will help them succeed academically. This can be done through stories and exercises found in games or group time.
About my class
