With the new school year arising in a different way (at home learning), there isn't a better way into starting fresh with a new set of school materials. Students weren't allowed to get their school supplies the previous semester and got through the end of the school year with what they had at home. This year, I will like to provide my fifth-grade classroom with an "At-Home Learning Kit".
Given the circumstances, students should feel like part of the class and know their teacher has their back at any time. This kit will be their teacher at home. My lessons will be a lot of hands-on, student lead creativity meanwhile making learning fun. These materials will have my bilingual learners busy learning.
The kit will also support special education students or those who work for the best hands-on. The community I serve serves one of the lowest low-income families in the city and school supplies like these will be very first for many.
