This school year I have partnered with our student support services team to implement student expression in writing activities throughout my school counselor's small group sessions. My students will engage in a series of student expression sessions so they are able to identify how to appropriately express themselves when interacting with their peers.
Having Chromebooks at my students’ finger tips will give my students, especially those without a digital devices, the opportunity to engage in the student expression activities in a digital format by typing their feelings out; the results of the activity will teach them how to be more engaging and interactive, while experiencing additional means of expressions! Students will also have the opportunity to use the Chromebooks to research appropriate ways for expressing themselves without exhibiting negative behaviors.
Finally, part of the students’ expression session will be an awesome opportunity to learn how create a voiceover PowerPoint presentation. Students will use the Chromebooks to record their student expression PowerPoint presentation. Students will listen to their recordings with the use of the Chromebook to ensure they are accurate prior to presenting the presentations within the small group.
