This upcoming school year will be my first full year teaching in my own classroom and while I am beyond excited, we are in need of supplies. Most of these students come from low income homes, so it is not uncommon for them to come to school without all the needed supplies. I am purchasing many of our supplies out of pocket, but I am asking for your help to purchase these flexible seating options for our classroom! These will benefit my 3rd grade class for English Language Arts and Social Studies.
Flexible seating options help students maintain focus while offering positive reinforcement! These seating options will be used during literacy centers where students will be able to move around the room to work alone or with partners. These options will allow them to get out of their hard, straight back plastic chairs and find a more comfortable place in the classroom to collaborate!
In addition, I have added a cubby for students to store their clipboards, white boards, privacy shields, and folders when not in use. This will allow them to maintain organization and work to prevent destruction of these new materials. Privacy shields are great when students are sitting at desks to take tests, as they feel more comfortable testing when other students cannot see them. This provides them with a sense of comfort and security!
