The purpose of these materials is to be more intentional about being culturally inclusive. These materials are used to represent students that are in the classroom. The materials will also help open up conversations about who the students are at home, in their community, and at school. It will be used to create a welcoming environment where ALL are truly welcome. In the older grades, books and pictures may be used, but in preschool, students need to get a chance to experience it with hands-on materials and learn that diversity is beautiful.
