I will be providing virtual speech teletherapy sessions for my students with communication disabilities. I need a computer that is fast and that will allow me to use multiple applications at a time and allow my students to clearly hear my voice and see my video during virtual speech therapy sessions. The computer that I am currently provided with is not reliable and my students are unable to clearly hear or see my video/therapy materials without significant lagging. I have upgraded my home internet connection and it has still not helped the quality of my virtual speech therapy sessions.
It is imperative that my students have access to clear audio and video in order to participate in virtual speech-language therapy sessions. Without these basic remote learning necessities, my students are unable to understand me or access virtual speech therapy sessions. They require a clear concise communication style, modeling, and scaffolding of visual and verbal cues in order to make progress and increase their independence in their communication skills.
