In Pre-K we use play to reinforce many skills. In this imagination area, children will use reading and writing skills such as re-tell a story, write out a menu, sequence an event, and create a puppet show. They will use math skills like counting, sorting, grouping, money, and measuring. They can learn to work together and problem solve. Our curriculum explores many topics including museums, structures, growing things, and habitats! Having a place where these concepts and children’s imaginations can come together is the best learning environment for PK. These items allow for a flexible, changeable learning space that adapts with the growing skill level of the children in my class. When learning is fun everyone is able to achieve their goals!
